Introduction<\/h3>\r\n\r\n

The Data Quality<\/span> Management<\/b> function<\/span> defines the goals, approaches and plans of action that ensure data content is of sufficient quality to support defined business and strategic objectives of the organization. The function<\/span> should be developed in alignment with business objectives, measured against defined data quality<\/span> (DQ) dimensions and based on an analysis of the current state of DQ. Data Quality<\/span> Management is a series of processes across the full data supply chain to ensure that the data provisioned meets the needs of its intended consumers.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

DQ requires an understanding of how data is sourced, defined, transformed, provisioned and consumed. DQ is not a process<\/span> itself but describes the degree in which data is fit-for-purpose for a given business process<\/span> or operation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n

Definition<\/h3>\r\n\r\n

The Data Quality<\/span> Management (DQM)<\/b> component is a set of capabilities to define data profiling<\/span>, DQ measurement, defect management, root cause analysis and data remediation. These capabilities allow the organization to execute processes across the data control environment ensuring that data is fit for its intended purpose.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
